Amazon EC2 SSH login on Windows tuturial

http://www.keywordintellect.com/amazon-web-services/managing-an-amazon-ec2-instance-using-putty-ssh/

Steps:
1, download puttygen.exe
2, use puttygen to convert the amazon EC2 private key file XXX.pem to XXX.ppk. Note:
puttygen will ask you a secret phrase to generate the XXX.ppk file. You are gonna use that in ssh into EC2 server.
3, open putty.exe
4, set up the “auth” configs on the left panel: simply load the XXX.ppk file, put your ssh commands e.g.:
ec2-user@victorfangblog.compute-1.amazonaws.com

5, once the ppk file loaded successfully, we will be asked the secret phrase you inputted in step 2.

6, Hooooray!!! here is what you should see :

login as: ec2-user
Authenticating with public key “imported-openssh-key”
Passphrase for key “imported-openssh-key”:

__| __|_ ) Amazon Linux AMI
_| ( / Beta
___|\___|___|

See /usr/share/doc/system-release-2011.02 for latest release notes. 🙂
[ec2-user@victorfangblog ~]$ ls
